Help Backups folder of Whatapps empty after doing it

Hi guys

I have an samsung advance phone with whatsapp. In the menu>setting i did a backup and expect to see some files in the \whatsapp\backups folder, but there is NONE, totally empty backups folder.

Why is this folder empty?
If the backup is done rightly where did the backup go to?
Does it mean if i copy the whole whatsapp folder to a new android phone and then install the whatsapp all the backup is there?

I change my strategy. I copied all the folders and files in the WhatsApp folder to the new mobile but the Whatsapp did not pick them up. They were copied after i have installed WhatsApp. Do you think if i copy them first, then install WhatsApp, it will be picked up? Or this way it won't work at all?

I ust read that the key to this transfer is the file: msgstore-yyyy-mm-dd.db.crypt in the database folder. If i have already started Whatspp can i delete the last .crypt and hope that whatspp pick up the last old .crypt that i put in.

For sharing i found all the answers to this matter
1. whenever we backup in Whatsapp an new msgstore-yyyy-mm-dd.db.crypt is created in the database folder, nothing really happen in the backup folder.
2. as long as the last msgstore.db.crypt with all the other sub folders in WhatsApp folder are copied to a new mobile, Whatsapp will pick them after you install. It does not matter if you copy the folders first or install whatsapp first, the key is the .crypt.

Do note that due to the rights to this file, you may not be able to see it from the pc you linked to it. The file manager in your mobile will however show it.
