Help Bad Battery?

Update: I went to VZW and they are overnighting me a new/refurb MAXX. I should get it tomorrow evening. I'll charge it and have an update by Friday night. Basically, the guy said he wasn't doubting my battery usage information, he hasn't seen any bad MAXX batteries, however, we can't just exchange the battery so we have to exchange the phone.

My first MAXX had really bad battery life, but I attributed it to it being new and all that. After three weeks, I had enough and swapped it for a new one. It has been a little better, but not the mind blowing life others swear by. I don't hold much faith in statements like, "My phone lasts 2 days, blah, blah blah!" as every one of us has different circumstances. What apps do you use? How's your signal? Do you stream music/videos? Do you text like a teenager in heat? Do you get 10 emails a day or 1000? Now, if two people had identical usage and apps and the battery stats were vastly different, then I would agree there is an issue. And until someone comes up with a definition of Light, Moderate or Heavy user, you can't compare.

I don't know how to explain it, but some days I go to bed with 50%-60% left, others it's like 20%. Did I use it THAT DIFFERENTLY? I don't think so, but anything is possible.

One note that you may want to keep in mind is the way Android OS runs. Myself and many others have experienced a random issue where the "suspend" process runs amok in the background and quickly sucks the battery dry. (I believe it prevents the phone from sleeping when it's idle.) It seems to be related to the kernel we have. Once it gets updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, the kernel will change and supposedly help eliminate the issue. Could be happening to you. You may be asking, why would it affect my phone and not everyone's? Well, that is the million dollar question no one seems to have the answer to.

The biggest thing for me is I can go all day on 4G and not have a dead battery halfway through the day. Good enough for me.

Victory is mine!

I got my CLN replacement last night. Fully charged it before turning it on. So far... after 14h 19m... which would have previously drained my battery after only 9h... I am at 60%!!!

I am going to see how long I can go. It's 12:30pm right now... and I'm guessing I'll get to 10pm, at least.

Thanks for putting up with my bad battery posts. I really did have one bad phone.

..edit..

I am now at 1d 2hr with 20% left. I used navigation for about fourth minutes, about 30 minutes of phone calls, a smidgen of streaming audio. It is fantastic.
