Bad ESN iPhone 4s on Metros BYOD?

One of my employees bought a used iPhone on ebay. The seller had listed it as "bad IMEI" but he bought it anyway because he was just planning to strip it for parts. The phone ended up in a drawer though, and he never disassembled it.

Last week, he called T-Mobile customer service and told them about the phone he'd bought on ebay. He mentioned being a loyal T-Mobile customer for many years and asked whether the IMEI is blocked only in the U.S. and unblocked in Europe (he's from Greece). The rep placed him on hold to wait for a supervisor. A supervisor never did come on the line but, about 20 minutes later, the rep came back on and said to wait a half-hour, then insert his SIM card. Lo and behold, the phone works perfectly! It wasn't his intention to put the phone into service but it goes to show that the carriers can do many things when they're willing to.

Wordddd, ive had Metro reps more than once, un-cough block bad cough ESN phones.
The fact of the matter is that AF and every other forum for that matter is really touchy and sensitive when it comes to that topic, OFC i understand why, theres guidelines you must follow and thats why we have mods enforcing these guidelines.
But is it doable? yes it is, lets be honest, certain people have the access and ability to do certain things most people consider 'impossible' and 'illegal' and sometimes these things are cough notoutofourreach.
just a little food for thought, think of the expressions
'People fear what they dont understand' 'Every man has a price', and 'Its not what you know its who you know'
Think of it as a family member who works at a stadium, and can get you in for free, whether it be with tickets(that werent originally meant to be completely free, rather promotional or so) or through an entrance, somewhere. while many of the upset fans that cant get in since they dont have a way in, they'll call it extremely illegal trespassing, is it? well yes, can it be done for certain people without any problems, ill let you be the judge of that.
Maybe that wasnt the best example, but for those of you that get it well then you catch my drift.
I hope nobody goes anal about this post as it ALWAYS happens, lol lets be mature about this, aliens exist, whether you choose to believe in it or not thats a different story, whether you want to flip out on an argument you consider valid, your entitled to your opinion. i personally have just learned that its better to be very open minded towards anything and everything.

and for those of you who are going to reply flaming the thread that has thus far been a reasonable discussion on ONE SCENARIO a member shared of someone he knew, then save it.
