Help bad esn

My friend recently lost her galaxy s 5 and reported it stolen. She found it after doing so but it now has a bad esn. She wants to sell it to me so I was wondering if there was a way to clear the esn. I want to use it for boost mobile. Its originally a sprint phone. Is this possible?

If this is truly your friend's phone, she should be able to call Sprint and have them mark the ESN as being valid (not stolen). Service provider (Sprint) can easily verify that she had the phone active on her account, and clear the phone's ESN.

There are ways to get a phone with a Bad ESN flashed over to Boost, but I won't discuss those.

There are some shady places (usually located in a mall) that will flash your phone to another carrier. Once this is done they won't be able to tell. This usually cost $50+ U.S. though
