One. Please spell correctly, this is a forum, not Facebook. Two. How are you completely sure Band 12 isn't hardware enabled after the September 1st B.33 T-Mobile ota? Have you used DFS to prove that band 12 is inactive still? Three. Do you have the OTA installed? I haven't gotten it to my phone yet. A good chunk of us haven't. Plus.. You also claimed it wasn't enabled on the MetroPCS model when in fact someone had posted a screenshot of their Z970 on Band 12

i love to see band 12 on my zmax
I was rooted on MPCS version b06 but restored to stock so I could update. Now my phone is updated to version b12, now I have volte and band 12. It's works well in Michigan, but of course speeds aren't great.

Coverage maps for any service provider are not perfect. They are only intended to be a general guide. Coverage will vary within an area, even from house to house or room to room. For example, in my house I get good Band 12 signal strength in some rooms, but it comes and goes in other rooms.

Also, by default the phone will choose the better signal between Bands 4 and 12. But if they are roughly equal Band 4 is preferred.

I read a few people on MetroPCS are seeing VoLTE with their version B12 updates and that vB12 is what enables Band 12 and VoLTE for MetroPCS, similar to Tmo vB33. Has anyone else seen this? I know people have been saying band 12 was supported out of the box but I believe it was not supported by the kernal or modem or whatever. Too many reports of users with other band 12 phones picking up a signal in a band 12 only area while the Zmax not picking up any signal. Unfortunately there is no solid way to find out since there is no Engineering Mode on the Zmax, and I do not trust Signal Check Pro or LTE Discovery due to too many false positives reported. But if this is the case that Band 12 and VoLTE are only achievable with the latest versions (Tmo B33 and MPCS B12) and reports that these versions do not support root, then we have to choose band 12/VoLTE or root.

Unless anyone has successfully rooted version B33 without it locking you out, this is a very sticking situation for root users who also want Extended LTE, or for those who purchase a new Zmax that comes with these versions. But for those who don't care about root, this is a very great update and one that is LONG overdue. But for root users is there a way to make a rooted B33 update?

Exactly in the same situation.

By dialing *983*72346373#, here is the list of the radio frequency:
"DCS 1800, EGSM 900, PGSM 900, GSM 850, GSM PCS 1900; WCDMA I IMT 2000, WCDMA II PCS 1900, WCDMA IV 1700, WCDMA V 850; LTE BAND 2, LTE BAND 4, LTE BAND 7, LTE BAND 17"
NO band 12.

MY phone's firmware version is Tmob B22.

So, anyway to root and also get Band 12?

Thanks.

I can vouch with B13 update for the Metro version that's slowly rolling out that it has Volte and Band 12. I am in an area of LA (Manhattan Beach) with poor reception, since the update I have been getting much better reception and been on band 12 more often than not.

Thanks for letting us know.
Then, let's hope that someone can root this updated version. I need both rooting and band12.
