Banks to Start Charging Debit Card Users?

We should send a clear signal and just drop these kinds of cards. I've personally switched to a more reasonable prepaid debit card like 24/7 Card to save fees on money transfer to Philippines (my original home country) and the debit charges don't make you feel like you just got held up.

I used to remember hearing stories about people leaving money in a bank and forgetting about it until a few decades later only to find out that their money had multiplied to some great amount. I'm suspecting in today's climate what would happen is someone will forget about an old account they left in a bank only to be told that they now owe the bank thousands and thousands of dollars in fees.....

I was so scared my bank would start charging for debit card usage. I'm super glad they decided not too. whew!

I think that sentiment was communicated to the banks by enough people to turn that idea around.

If banks want to make more money off of us than they do now, new fees are not the answer... this time around anyway.

I agree. New fees just turn away so many from that bank, they almost lost most of their customers. Everyone I know was ready to jump ship once it was confirmed. Not a smart move.
