Barcode Scanner game?

I'm half way through implementing the multiplayer side of it, which does include stuff like geographically locating nearby other players (in fact, I have integrated a "Layar" part to it as well, so you will be able to hold your phone up and see nearby "beasts" in real time!) and there is going to be all sorts of good stuff like levelling up, XP, trading etc etc etc.

That's awesome, I'd gladly help test this come the time, as long as it's after 16th of June, when I'll be getting My Desire.

I saw the adverts for these when I was a kid, but I was never allowed to buy one :(
 
I think this is the kind of games that would have a huge success but big teams with experiences in the field could do that not new guys trying to make it in the android market.
 
I dont remember any game like that!...lol but that sounds cool!!. Metroid Prime Corruption on wii had something like that, scanned this or that.. and got detialed info about weapons, upgrades. also the monsters in the game and battles etc , it all went in the database. I LOVED scanning everything and making sure i didnt miss anything :D
 
the name of the handheld game is called Skannerz, i played with it allot when i was a kid and i really wish someone could port it to andriod there are videos about it all over online and im pretty sure there are a few fan cites on it
 
The toy your thinking of was called Skannerz. I used to have one ill be checking out the ones yall have posted here but i would love to see one go big that was a fun game
 
Hi! I'm an artist with quite a following on youtube and deviantART (Around 20 000 Subs) I would love to be a part of something like barcode beasties or codemon so if someone here is some kind of programmer then I would love to collaborate to create one of these barcode games! I've been trying to make one myself but I have never coded before ( The most difficult thing I ever made was a dress up game in flash lol) so I could really use some help..

@Klarikatt, I would just point out that this thread started over 8 years ago. I doubt you'll find any of the original players still posting here. :(
