Basis Calendar Questions

I am coming from a Palm to Droid and like it so far. But, I am frustrated with the calendar on my Droid. Is there an easier way to (1) go to a specific date other than scrolling through; and (2) add an event. I find the add new event function kind of cumbersome. Is there a calendar replacement app? Thanks!

There are apparently some calendar apps in the marketplace, I haven't used them, so i can not comment.

As for the existing calendar, whatever was the last state you left it in (agenda view, month view, etc) should be the state it starts in, so you can have it start in Month view, and press on a day to have it take you to that day in the agenda view.

As for easily creating a new event, you can get the free app "Any Cut". You can then use Any Cut to create a shortcut on the desktop to create a new calendar entry with one press.

I am in same situation. Had palm treo 755p now samsung moment. I might retun it, go back to treo and wait. The present android calendar and contacts and lack of good search function are terrible. I am hoping the market quickly creates a seemless program.
