Users I have the nexus 7 for one week and so far no battery problems it

charge ok. I am going to let it go down to about 10% and then charge

it up to see if I have any problems as all the reviews that I have read

all kinds of problems. Will keep you posted.
 
I let it go down below 10%....screen was flickering and static noise...got it back to live but wont risk going below 10% again!
 
Mine shut down at 3%when I sort of lost track of time playing a game. When I plugged it in and turned it on, it started charging up from 0%
 
Ok now all plug in starting to charge it is now 5% A FEW MINS ago now at 8%

it seems like it's charging ok now at 10%

I would like to know, the users that have problems with the battery are their units

ROOTED? WILL THAT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE charging unit?

I am new to android (I am a WEBOS USER) maybe the question is dumb but I

would like to know.

The problems you've read about involve the tablet turning itself off first and then refusing to turn back on utility it's properly charged.
It's a safety feature for these types of batteries to not let them drop below a certain charge point.
I know of no users who have actual problems with their battery.
I'd advise you to not let it get below 10% as it is always better to be safe then sorry, and you might actually diminish your battery life ever so slightly.
 
Teknologic! thank you for the info. I did let the batt go down to 2% BUT NEVER AGAIN I did it once but from now on it be 10% is my cut off

I find battery life to be the big disappointing factor to the N7.45 minutes on the internet and 30 minutes watching a movie or YouTube takes around 30% of the battery usage,I have had the tablet a week now.I also have a Samsung 7 inch Tab on froyo but I find the internet WiFi more stable on the Nexus,on the Samsung I am always having network problems even using it in the same room has the router.I have had not issue with the Nexus yet.
 
I try to not let mine go below 25% and will put it on the charger usually at around 40% or lower at home or office. The screen uses most of the battery power. I leave my screen at the 25% level most of the time, also use Green Power to help manage Wi-Fi, Autosync, Bluetooth.

Most "normal" days I get a 12+ hours off the charger with 40-50% left which is acceptable to me. I read a lot, stream Pandora to a Bluetooth speaker sometimes 2 hours daily, plus email and web forums. I receive a lot of incoming emails daily. My habit is to recharge overnight.

If I watch a movie stored in internal memory, it seems to use around 30% for a 2 hour movie. On a recent cross country flight, I answered several emails at the airport, read for about an hour and watched 2 movies and was down to 25% at which point I powered it off. I wish I had more battery life, but can live with it. It gets better battery life than my "smartphone".

Use a Battery Monitor app like GSAM and see where the usage is. I have been off the charger 7 hours and am at 80%. Usage of the 20% has been 77% screen (1:21 hrs), 3.8% Wi-fi and Bluetooth, 16% various apps (the highest app was 2.2%)
 
I didn't root my N7 and I have to say, ever since I bought mine, I have not experienced anything that you have experienced. My only gripe is the moodswinging charging theatrics that I have to go through sometimes and that power button. Sometimes, I can just tap the button any my N7 turns on and sometimes I have to pull the "hold power button for 20 seconds" maneuver just to get it to turn on.

When the battery gets below 40% I plug the charger into a timer socket which is set for 3:30am - 6:30am. I have no issues at all, it never needs daytime charging, I never excessively overcharge at night, just get up in the morning to a fully charged tablet, which then lasts 2-3 days before needing it's next recharge.

If your finding it trade off between not having time to let it charge during the day and not wanting to overcharge it at night, this is an incredibly simple solution.
 
Mine only uses about 10%/hr with HEAVY usage... streaming video, web browsing, playing games, even combining any of these with playing music i still get great battery life
 
On average, how many hrs are people getting out of the N7 between charges. I understand people have different levels of usage. I would be interested to hear how often people charge their N7?

The 10%/hour reported above sounds about right. If I'm copying stuff over the network (the Horn obb file) then the battery falls faster, but aside from this I get about 10%/hour.

I find the usage is very sensitive to screen brightness, which makes sense as the screen is usually the biggest user of power. In terms of screen hours my biggest usage is reading books, and since I'm usually in my armchair under a standard lamp the screen doesn't have to be especially bright. I probably end up charging the Nexus every two or three days.

I am having problems not with the battery life itself but with how long it is actually taking the tablet to charge. It is literally taking about ten hours to charge.
 
I usually put my N7, and my phone, on their chargers when I'm around a power source. Including car, home, office. I always have one close by. I've heard that for LithION batteries, they should not be left to drain to low levels, but it's better to keep them charged to as full a level as possible. If I'm at home playing a screen intensive game or other app, I just connect to power to keep it charged. When my battery widget goes from green to yellow (under 60%), I get it on a charger as soon as possible.
