Help Battery and camera problems

I have my phone for about 9 months and it started to make a few problems lately..
first is when I open my camera it gives me an error saying "camera failed" and automatically closing the app. It started today after my phone fell from about 1m height so I think this is what caused it, but I'm not sure because I had another problem with it that when I took a photo it was sometimes distorted with random lines and weird colors.. it happened randomly in some photos and then stopped about a month ago. (I can't upload an example pic because i'm a new user)

Second problem is if I close my phone and open it the battery drops in up to 30%. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes I don't even close my phone and the battery just drops or my phone dies with no reason..

I hope you can help me

*Edit* another thing I forgot is the device sometimes restarts without me even touching it.. it works normally after that but it's really annoying

The first problem sounds like a defective camera (hardware), but it could be the app. Install a different camera app and see if it still happens. That will tell you where the problem is.

As far as the battery, it sounds like an internal short. When the short shorts the battery, the current flowing through the short burns the short out, but it also discharges the battery. If it brings the battery down fast enough it'll cause the phone to restart.

The battery industry is actually working on that problem (and has been for a while). The short is caused by the nature of how a lithium ion battery charges. They're trying to figure out a way of changing that (adding a chemical to the electrolyte, adding something to one of the electrodes - there are all sorts of experiments going on - no results so far).
