Help battery and sd card issue

hi all!!

ive had my desire hd since late december, have had zero issues up to now.
last week or so my battery has been dying rapid, used to get full day out of it, now lucky to get half a day!
also it keeps thinking ive no sd card in,, says no sd card! ive a 16gb in it since i got it, the problem has been interrmittent over the past week or so, very annoying as when it occurs it means i cant use the camera!

any help would be greatly appreciated

Try plugging your sd card into your pc and error checking it.

Personally id backup all my data from memory card onto pc and then full format it, as for the battery, id give the battery calibration trick a shot, Google it for how to, don't know if it works mysel but I've heard good and bad, if that doesn't work then back all your applications and do a factory reset to reinstall android.
