Battery breaks phone?

Hey guys, I was wondering if some this rumor is true:

I heard that if you put a crappy battery in GS2 like some of the dodgy china-made battery, the phone might broke (they even have to bring it to customer service), is this true?

Well I had to give me genuine battery a good run through before it went normal again after using ChinaBats. Kinda broke the calibration.
