I've had my HTC One V phone since late December of 2012. For the most part I've been very happy with its performance and the extra memory it has compared to its predecessor, the Optimus V by LG.
But recently the battery has been discharging at an alarming pace. I used to easily get a day's worth of use from it and now by midafternoon the unit is in need of recharging.
Last night I got home from work and the charge was at 17% (I have the app Quick Settings which shows the digital amount of battery charge). So I put it in the charger and checked before I went to sleep five hours later. It was at full 100% charge. I turned the phone off - not just the screen, but the phone.
This morning I turned it on expecting it to show 98-100% charge and it showed as 70%!
If this was a phone with a removable battery it would be easy to buy a replacement and push on. But since that's not an option with this phone I am wondering if anyone has any idea what is causing the phone to lose battery strength so abruptly and even when it's turned off?
Is the only answer buying a new phone?
