Battery charging problem

I have a samsung galaxy note 2 and am experiencing problems with charging the battery.
I have swapped batteries with a friend who has the same phone and they appear to be able to charge it ok - it just seems to incompatiable with my phone.
What do I need to do to resolve this problem, please?

They key question is; can your phone charge your friends battery? If not then it would seem to be a problem with your phone - perhaps the battery contacts are dirty?

Does your phone charge your battery slowly or not at all?

If you cannot get your phone to charge any battery, take it for repair.

Edit I am assuming you are trying to charge it with the original charger. Some usb chargers only put out 0.5amps vs the 2amps from the note 2 charger. The 0.5amp chargers sometimes can't keep up with the discharge rate if you are charging with the phone active.

Have you tried a different charger?
