Battery charging question.

How far can I push my phone when charging? I mean how can I get the maximum charge in the shortest time. This question comes to mind because my charger broke during an extended stay in the hospital last week. After being released I purchased a new cord from my local radio shack. Now my phone takes 4 hours to charge. I know not all cords are equal when it comes to charging. So what can I do to get a better charge time now that my stock charger is no more?

A charger should have the correct current output for your device. You should be able to find the current output details on your stock charger. The current output is the maximum current the charger will supply.

eg.

5.0v/750mA
5.0v/1.0A
5.0v/2.0A

Then you can buy a charger with the same, or higher, output - although as the device controls the actual charge current there would be no direct benefit from getting a charger with a higher rating.

It may be worth having a look on Amazon, they have direct replacement chargers for most devices - in some cases manufacturer supplied, which, in my opinion, is the best option.

Hope this helps.
