Help Battery Conector

I am looking at removing the battery from my Nexus 7 so that it will turn on when i turn on an appliance that it will be controlling through the USB. Since the USB will be used for communication i cannot use it to power the device, so i will be removing the battery and powering it from the wall charger output but cutting off the uUSB connector and putting on the battery connector. I am going to keep the battery for road trips and vacations so i can use it as a tablet. I have attached a picture of the part to aleviate an confusion.

I have tried calling both Google and Asus to get the part number for the connector, but neither gave me the part number. I couldn't get to the people who would know.

The connector has a 2mm pitch for the 6 connectors. The dimensions of the part are 12.3x1.8x5mm and I could not find any part on either Digi-Key or Mouser that was under 2mm in height. I bought a couple of connectors that have a 2mm height and tried to sand them down to fit, but they ended up falling apart before i could sand off enough to make them fit into the female end of the connector. I do not need the exact connector they use, but that would be preferred.

Does anyone know of a connector that would fit this?

Unlikely to find one of those.....

Is there any way you could cut the wires between the connector and battery and then use some form of insulated inline connector(s) between them? Miniature crimp terminals for example........
