Help Battery cover/back plate

Lurker
Hi, this is my first post, although I have been reading here for a while. I purchased a Motorola Triumph and activated it today. I love the phone so far but the back plate/battery cover thingy will not stay affixed to the phone body. I have tried everything I can think of to slide it up and snap it into place. Does it sound like it's broken or does anyone know if I could be overlooking something?

Thank you so much!

My back cover is junk too. If I didn't have the cover on it, I would have lost that cover twenty minutes after I got it. Get a case. Fortunately, the battery is clicked in and doesn't fall out because of a missing cover.

You should put it in a case. I have a silicone one that works really well but it attracts a lot of lint from my front pockets so I usually stick it in my back pocket like a chick lol

I have a small piece of tape 1/4" on the right hand of the camera. solved the problem. Don't put on the left because it blocks the noise cancellation mic.

During the first week of having my phone while my case was being shipping my battery cover stayed on pretty well. Only fell of a couple the when pulling the phone out of my pocket. But once you get a case you dont have to worry about the battery cover so that would be my suggestion, just get a case.

I haven't had this problem, and so far as I'm aware my husband hasn't either (we bought our Triumphs within a day of each other).

Thank you all! I bought it from Amazon. I guess it's not worth exchanging it if the cover basically sucks for so many people. I do have several cases ordered and hope to have them today. I agree that a case will probably solve the problem. :p

Mine and my wife's covers are a solid fit. Inspect yours to see if any parts broke off, preventing it from locking in place. Personally, I would exchange it if it wasn't right or broken.

My first MT had no issue. The newer one, the back has never stayed on. I have it in a case all the time so I really don't care too much.

I put a $3 case on my phone, which prevents my cover from coming off, though I planned to get a case right away anyway.

Before the case arrived, the back cover would occasionally come off or at least get loosened when the phone was in my pocket.

Just call Virgin and tell them the covers broken, they'll send you a new one no problem. Beats exchanging the phone.

I had problems with the back cover coming off when I first got my phone. I got the Rocketfish protector fairly quickly and that took care of the issue. I just don't understand why the phone was designed with such a horrible back cover. I wouldn't think it would take a rocket scientist to figure out that a rubberized feeling case that is a little grippy and a back cover held on only by friction is a bad idea. I don't know how other phones do it, but it just seems a bad design on the Triumph.

It is not held in by friction, there are 3 small "L" shaped pins on the back cover (look carefully) that slip into slots on the phone then you just slide it upwards and ..cover is locked on!!!
I have never had a problem with the cover on my phone, I do however have a case for it.

Don, I have tried everything. The Amazon seller is sending me a new back cover. I'll see how it works. Meanwhile, it's not a problem because I'm using a case.

yea, i have had issues with mine at times, if i dont press hard on the top right corner while sliding the plate up it sticks out pretty far and ends up falling off, but ur issue seems like it might be what i just encountered recently, the extra large lock style tap thing on the bottom corner of the back plate itself

got stuck on my pants on time the plate fell off in my pocket and i almost ripped it clean off the back plate, now it spins around in place and such lol and it its not perfectly placed the plate either wont go on at all, or just falls right off lol

for me tho if i put it on right it stays on lol, atleast your getting a new one instead of having to purchase tho
