Battery, deep sleep

[Android Question]

Why is Android Kernel using so much battery and keeping my phone from deep sleep? unless i restart it after I disconnect it from the charger? its goddam annoying and broken! What should i do? I am not interrested in having a 3rd party app running in the background to fix something that should be working!

Its a Galaxy Note 3.

I understand the frustration. I would however use one third party app, not to "fix" the problem but to find out the cause. Wakelock Detector (free on playstore) should identify what is causing the lack of deep sleep. My guess is that there is something which is syncing too often.
