Root Battery died while charging?

I woke up this morning to see my phone wasn't fully charged (94%) after charging it overnight. Looking at batt stats, somehow the battery "died" instantly at like 70% then started from 0% charge.

- Wow what the hell? It wasn't even awake and it fully discharged instantly, I'm curious to what could cause that.

It came out full charge when I rebooted during the phenomenon (was hanging at 94%). Used SD maid to delete batt stats.

- I was thinking maybe a surge in the charger or a short and it caused the discharge. I want to sleep tonight so don't anyone suggest it's a ROM bug.

Hmm... That's a mess... I don't think a short would cause the battery to INSTANTLY drop to 0%.. What kernel do you use? I know the kernel deals a lot with voltage and things of that nature, so your kernel may be the culprit.

Been using game theory kernel 1.62MHz but I never have it on 1.62mhz, always have it on 1.13mhz.

Why? PG's build plays very nicely with a loki kernel and uninstalling it would be like taking a step backwards ;)

Well I'd lose the interactive gov but I'd still have recovery already built into the ROM. Plus 1080p would be fixed on stock c kernel.

I don't understand why people care about 1080p... 720p is just as good, and the files are smaller.. What are you guys taking video of that you absolutely need 1080p?

Agreed. But it would be nice to know that everything is working at 100%

I'm all for a phone free of issues, I just think the hardware issues that affect the phone's features, and limit them greatly (GPS, call volume, backlight, etc) are far more pressing than 1080p.. Personal opinion I guess ;)
