Help Battery drain after official JB update, any advice?

I am Welcome. You're right. well done. *cookies*

Tweak: Improve (a mechanism or system) by making fine adjustments to it.
Fault: Working badly or unreliably because of imperfections
Waste: Use or expend carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose.

*Laughs* Thanks for the chuckle!

I'm sorry but it's ridiculous. 2 people who can't even take take the time to read what the thread is about to post something that is complete rubbish in it simply because they don't understand. Grrrr

If people can't be bothered to take the time to read. Fine. But don't bother posting either. It just makes threads like this that are helping people who have genuine issues, less useful. Stop hindering.

MediaScannerService wakelock is common after JB update on the S3. Its JellyBean scanning your SD card (removable generally) for all your existing media. For some (like me) it never went away.

The best advice I found for this (and can confirm it works 100%) is to backup your sd card to PC, format it and put your data back on Sd.

Did this solve your problem permanently? I reformatted, then put my music and pics back on my card. Everything seemed ok for a while, but then the problem recurred. Now - I can't seem to get rid of the partial wakelock. Do you have any suggestions?

I'll try some the suggestions one here and get back to you. I am also seeing a HUGE difference in battery life. I used to make it through the day without recharging. Ever since the update I have to recharge between 2pm and 3pm every day.
