Battery drain and running hot

I need help my mytouch 3g is acting funny my battery drains super fast and hot 112 degrees. I checked the battery usage and its saying display 60 percent android 22 percent and so on. I really havent updated or added anything latley it just started happening all of a sudden. I am running 2.2 I tried a factory reset and also tried conditioning the batt. is there anything else I can try? please help.

Very odd. I just checked mine and it shows Display - 40%, Cell Standby - 28%, Phone Idle - 15%, Bluetooth - 8%, Browser - 6%, Android System - 3%. It shows battery temp at 24.2 degrees C.

Today I tried a master reset and still nothing. The percentages of batt. drain are different tho. now its standby 67, android 21, display 6. Very weird does anybody have any ideas I' worried that this thing is going to start fire it runs so hot i only turn it on to check messages and make a call.

Sounds like your phone is trying to draw way too much power, could be a bad battery, but hopefully it's not anything worse.
