Help Battery drain due to poor signal

I get poor signal reception inside my home & find that it drains battery a lot, the battery stats shows "cell standby" has max percentage. Is there anything I can do to improve my battery life?

if your in poor reception areas quite alot, put the phone into flight mode, found in settings>wireless and network, that should help.

Also a quicker was is to hold down the screen lock button for a few seconds and a menu will pop up and flight mode is in there too.
