Newbie
it happened to me twice that after i installed the recent update, the battery ran out fast, one time 80% to 15% overnight, one time to shutoff overnight. never happen before. phone is on wifi, not runnning any sync or stuff. any suggestions? anyone else seeing this? thanks, all.:o

Yes, I am having the exact same issue and it is pissing me off. Here is a screenshot of what is using the power:

if the update is bad, it should impact all users; i used this phone for 4 months now without battery issue till the recent update. 1. time to root? 2. wait for ICS? 3. factory default? 4. go to Sprint store? lol

I would suggest that you try a shutdown and battery pull for any kind abnormal battery usage. There's always the chance that there's a runaway app, or worse a radio stuck in some sort of loop.

re: the screen shot ... that shows me you've run over 15hrs and still have 50% battery ... darn good if you ask me. :). Probably not what you intended to illustrate, but I do think the percentages are only relevant within the context of the overall battery drain. The first question is how long is the battery lasting under "normal" usage?

I use my phone very lightly. I used to get about 48 hours and now I get about 24.

Have you tried using a regular charger on your phone instead of the USB charger ??
I read on a forum that USB chargers do NOT fully charge your battery even though it may say it is full.
I tried this and SURE ENOUGH , after using a real charger from another phone I had, I get almost twice he battery usage as I did before. Worth the try.

I agree that the battery is draining faster since this last update (primarily to remove Carrier IQ.) Battery is still good but not as good as before.
