Help battery drain issues due to screen

Hi guys, so every since I've upgraded to jellybean I've been having serious battery issues relating to the screen. In ics my battery lasted a lot longer with the same kind of usage but now I can't even go an hour browsing on reddit without it draining 20%! I don't have smart stay on, I keep my screen brightness at 0, I can't figure what's causing the screen to eat up so much battery and its become such a frustration for me. Even when the screen is idle it wastes battery at an alarming rate! Has anyone experienced similar issues after the update? And does anyone know a solution?

Have you done a factory reset since the update? Perhaps that would help even though it's a royal pain in the butt.

Come to think of it, I haven't. I actually did see a few threads recommending a factory reset but I've been dreading doing one cause as you said, it's a pain in the posterior. I'll try it now I guess and report on the results
