Root Battery Drain on 4G

Hey guys. Forum is pretty quiet these days..

Quick question. I'm running Tbolt (still like it, no issues at all) running SoaBliss 1.04. My area recently got LTE, and my 1700mah battery is getting raped daily. Sometimes its not too bad, mostly will drop 20% / hr. It will usually be dead before lunch. Just finished charging back to 100%.. 20 min later, its at 93%. I'm up for upgrade, and am patiently waiting for new HW before holidays. Again, am Rooted, running SoaB 1.04. Kernal 2.6.35.10-bamf_0.4gf4df80b.

Should i get over the battery life? or would a different Kernal / Radio give better results?

Any insight appreciated.

Tks.

There is really nothing you can do to help this that much. It is because of the way Verizon's network is set up. The 4G LTE automatically uses more battery because it is far weaker in strength compared to the 3G, which requires more battery to stay locked on to the network. And also when on voice calls or sending sms using CDMA, it kicks the LTE off. It causes major battery drain connecting back to LTE. Really the best thing you can do is grab an OEM Rezound battery. It has better life than the OEM or any aftermarket Thunderbolt extended battery made. Hope this helps.

Just leave it off. You can find all kinds of widgets or notification page switches for it. When you decide to do someone serious surfing, streaming, hotspotting, etc. turn it on. Else just let it run on 3g. It makes a NOTICEABLE difference. You don't need 4g to have background services download SMS, Emails, RSS etc. etc.
