Root Battery drain, over heating, and media server

Ok I saw a post by duper1 with screenies of media server eating the battery. For those that don't know what the media server is allow me to explain. It is basically your media scanner, it controls music & picture files and sync. If you're experiencing a hotter than normal feeling battery first check your battery stats. If you see media server as one of the top causes of battery use I have resolution for you..

You'll first need three apps
-GREENIFY
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
-RESCAN MEDIA ROOT https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.addz.mediascannerroot
-SD MAID
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm

After you install these first go into Rescan Media Root and disable the media scanner and then re-enable it exit out. Then hop into greenify and hibernate all music apps and any apps like contacts photos snc or any other npn system apps that use sync excluding Facebook so they'll sleep until you choose to use them but be sure to re-hibernate after your done. Then go to Sd Maid and select duplicate files, tap the checkmark at the top of the screen and then select keep newest and delete. Exit out and reboot ten check your battery stats and media server should either be gone or a whole lot lower. Your phone should cool down shortly and start noticing better battery life..

Greenify doesn't let you touch system apps like contacts unless you pay for donor version ($3)

Did you try this method? Did it work?

- I've gone back to Stock on firmware C to attempt to salvage the GPS, still kinda buggy but much of an improvement. Battery life is better, and feels much more snappy. I left my phone off the charger for 10 hours and only used 10% life with normal use, 2 hours of youtube, a few text messages.

- I would like to see the kind of life I could get with an under-clocked bug free CM 10.
