Help Battery Drain Over Night, 96% to 40% (Verizon)

ksdaoski

Lurker
Went to bed last night around 11pm with 96% battery, fresh off the charger. Woke up at 5:30am with only 40%.

The main usage was "Android System" at 48%, followed by Google+ at 30% (which I don't actively use at all).
Cell standby was only like 5%
Screen was only like 5%

And then using it for a few mins before charging, overall battery was dropping about 1% per min. Again, with the "Android System" being the big drain.

Doesn't seem right. Any ideas on what is causing the severe Android System drain?

Could be a kernel wake lock. Were you on WiFi at the time?

I use BetterBatteryStats to find out what kernel wakelocks are happening but thats a paid app. I believe there is a free one too, but I dont know the name

Just downloaded that app. Looking at "Partial Wakelocks" and everything is just a few seconds with the exception of a long winded one called, "*sync*_com.google.android.apps.plus.iu.EsGoogleluProvider_Account{name+EM,type=com.google}"
This has gone on for 6h47m9s!

Wow I can't believe this google plus thing is still happeningiwith the battery. This has been happening since day one since the Gnex came out. Figured they would have fixed it for other devices in th later builds of ics

"Andriod System" seems to be the biggest drain for me, consuming nearly 50% of all battery usage. Something in there is sucking juice but I can't tell what it is.

I had my phone uncharged the other night. In 9 1/2 hours it went down 3 %. You gotta have the Internet running or something.....
