Phone rooted or not? If not
Application manager - all - Force Stop and disable everything you can. You don't need many apps to preload.
Also there is an app for not rooted phones called Startup Manager (free) that will let you solve most of your problems from boot. I disabled everything except Avaite and a few System Apps. I was surprised how little needs to start with the phone.
It cured my battery drain and on 4.4.2 my ram went from 900mb used to 600mb on boot or task kill.
with 5.0.1 I can't get below 1.2gb used. Dunno why but what ever.
