I've found the 5x much better than the 5.
But I discovered on the 5 after switching to the 5x my 5 drained overnight!
I figured it out by using the battery history in settings.
I had left the old sim in place and the phone spent the night serching for a cell signal.
Lesson: marshmallow will tell you, just check battery history

I was just about to say check the battery stats.
I've had my 5X for about a week and now that I'm not constantly playing with the phone, battery is pretty good.
My bet is you have some rogue app chewing up battery - you can see which apps have not been optimised for the new sleep function.
