Battery drained to 11% in 3 hours, cyanogen 7.2

Hello colleagues on Cyanogen 7.2 and stalwarts
Few days ago I 'upgraded' to Cyanogen 7.2 from 7.0 on my Hero and have been experiencing terrible battery drain
I installed BBS and dida test and battery was down to 11% in 3 hrs. Same happened next day, So I took some screenshots but have no clue how to fix this ?
Anybody can help ?
Thanks so much in advance
KT
PS:
Phone was unplugged at approx 7 AM
The phone call was about 3 mins duration, calling work that I am running a little late.
My work are has good signal, on CM 7.0, battery was 60% by end of day.
I always keep WiFi and GPS off

Hmmm, it's tough to say specifically. Did you wipe all your caches when you flashed to 7.2? Also, have you wiped the batery stats? And finally, have you recently installed any apps? If you didin't wipe the caches, then go back into your recovery and do so. If you did, then I really don't have much more to suggest other than to re-flash the ROM after a fresh wipe. If you just installed a new app, then un-install it and see if that helps. I haven't been on my Hero in a while, so sorry for not being more specific. Maybe someone else who is still lingering around here will have something else for you.

Hello KA
Thanks for your reply. I dont know how to read BBS :-(
To answer ur qns:
- I did wipe all the caches before flashing.
- I did wipe BBS
- Re: new apps, its hard to say cuz I put all apps that I liked in 7.0 same soon after I flashed 7.2. So I really did not test pure 7.2.

After reading your reply and thinking in real time, one difference from 7.0 is that I have been seeing Moxier mail sync errors every time I open it ( when I open the Moxier mail its says 'this folder is not upto date' and I have to manually sync it, this constant try may be draining the battery. I have UI Moxier and lets see what happens.
If this doesn't work, I will just start afresh from 7.2, pure install, and then add apps one by one each day
I ll keep you posted.

Did you wipe cache AND data before flashing CyanogenMod 7.2? The jump from CyanogenMod 7 to CyanogenMod 7.2 would definitely warrant completely wiping everything, including your data.

If you did not wipe data, then my guess is something from the older version of the ROM is causing issues with the newer version of it. If you are using ClockworkMod Recovery, be sure to go into Advanced and format boot, cache, data, and system as well, but not the microSD card and, of course, do a Nandroid backup before all of this too.

Hi LBP Good to see your post.
I did wipe both cache and data.

update:
I decided to start by UnInstalling Moxier and deactivating the email on HTC native email client. This seemed to fix the issue and I got good battery life the last 3-4 days. I was super happy
How ever this morning The battery drained again in less than 3 hrs.

Screenshots attached. Any ideas ?
Thanks again
KT
2 days ago I was very happy and now back to square 1 again :(

Are you using Advanced Task Killer? I see its icon in the notification shade.

Be careful with that app. Using an automatic task killer often drains more batter than it saves because the app that gets killed keeps restarting and it is a vicious cycle killing and restarting.

Hello LBP, yes I Am using ATK, always have since 7.0.
I can try UI it and see if that makes a difference.
I went from getting down to just 78 % in 15 hr to 0 % in less than 4. I am bewildered ! Any interpretation / idea from the BBS s'shot or others ?
Thanks KT

How old is your phone?
Is it possibel that the battery is going?

Try Better Batt Stats and Cpu Spy in the market.

See what is causing all the drain!

Hello MahaloCat
My phone is few months old ( they replaced it as the screen went dead on the original one )
the screenshot in post 6 is from Better Battery Stats but I dont know how to read it. and figure out what is causing the drain ?
I can take a screenshot if you tell me what options to chose and then post it here for your review.

try kernal WakeLocks -
That should give you a better Idea...aslo CPUSpy -
Will let you know if you are getting deep sleep or not.

My Wife OG evo just went nuts with Battery Drain.
I wiped cache and Davlik and reinstalled ROM - All seems ok.

Yours SEEMS app Driven though. Try the Kernal wakelocks on Better Batt Stats and post the pic. Nothing on post 6 shows a drain.

This is a bit off topic, but what ROM is your wife's Sprint HTC EVO 4G running? My wife is running CyanogenMod 7.2 and she has been really happy with that.

I am just curious, really. I look forward to your reply.

Thanks for asking. I am alright but have been very busy lately. :)

I will have to give the ROM you mentioned a try. If I can find spare time, that is. ;)
