Root Battery draining too fast help guys

Hello all guys I am selling my Esteem and I had already perfom a full wipe and I have noticed the battery draining extremely fast I even put wifi on to test it and it drain the battery in about 7 hours without any type of use first time this happens to me the phone is already offline I have #2 on it with the regular speed kernel this is the first time this happens to me I will appreciate any input I have a person that wants to look at it today and I want to know why is doing this I have wipe cache battery stats everything and still has issues.

How many bars (reception wise) are you getting on it (regardless of whether the phone has service or not) lower bars=faster draining

Thanks men It was at about 1-2 bars so even though it was not in service it could drain the battery that fast ::confused:
 
I have no bars at home and a full signal at work. It drains fast when I get home. The way I understand it, if your phone has no signal bars, it has to use more battery power to try and reach out to find that signal, in a nutshell.

If you have a little 'x' over your signal bars, then you have no signal at all and you might as well put your phone into airplane mode to conserve battery.
 
Thanks guys I just thought there was something wrong with the phone all of the sudden but yes it makes sense even though it was just sitting there it might have been looking for a signal of some kind
