Help Battery drains quicky

Hi,
Since few days I find my mobile battery gets drain very quickly (around 10-15 mins in use) and also its gets charged fully in 15-20 mins. When I keep the phone idle it last for 2-3 hrs.I have updated Adroid 2.2 (Froyo) to 2.3.4 few months back through internet after following one of the forum.
My mobile is exactly one year old. Could anybody suggest why my mobile battery gets drains quickly. I have checked all the optimum setup for less battery usage. Do I need to change my battery?
Also I am not able to connect my phone with Kies. It keeps on displaying "Connecting"

Hello and welcome Harender - thanks for joining!!

Here are a couple of things that you could consider - adjust the screen brightness, do not use live wallpapers, switch off networks when not in use (WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS), adjust update intervals for widgets (do you really need twitter/facebook notifications every half hour?). You could also consider downloading a battery monitoring app such as JuiceDefender.

It is also worth noting that another cause for battery drain is when you have not got very good signal, as your phone has to search for it!

I have checked that quote before I became member to this forum but unfortunately it didn't help. Even most of the time signal is strong.

I read in one of the forum that battery life of Galaxy fit is around 400 cycles. I guess by one yr now 400 cycles exhausted.

I had this issue too but simply fixed. I bought 2 after market batteries with a wall/usb charger for $10.
