Root Battery? Dx

God my battery life is worse then my diet. (Yeah I'm not skinny. Eat me. Lol) Can anyone give me some links on how to make the battery life better with some mods or a different compatible kernel that won't break 3D? Anthrax breaks my 3D for some reason. I'm on UnlockedPotentialHD and on the included Power Kernel. I'm S-Off on hboot 1.50.
 
I'll give it a try. I just miss being at 1.6ghz on my Optimus Elite on Smartassv2 governor. I got at least 9 hours battery and right now I get like 4 or 5 on this phone.
 
i didnt have much luck with smartass on this phone either. i run 1.512ghz core 1, 1.296ghz core 2 with lagfree/xondemand. its nice

Hey HaTrEd360, glad to see you here from the Elite forums!

If your using a Sense-based ROM your battery life will, more often than not, suck- even with my extended 1900 Mah battery.

I got tired of it too and switched to a Jelly Bean ROM-Midnight J, Wild for the Night or the new AlienDroid and couldn't be any happier.

It was hard at first losing all of the cool features of Sense but what good is it if you don't have the battery life that can last.
 
Turn off auto sync, turn the brightness down, choose the xondemand governor (use Buttered Toast for that) and just play with settings. Its hit and miss with this stuff, you gotta experiment and choose what works best for you.

This is good advice. You can also just get buttertoast kernel from xda (butteredtoast is the xda version of anthrax IMO). I have no idea why there is an anthrax kernel on the all things root guide, that one isn't up to date.

Flash buttertoast and then underclock with xondemand and also undervolt. Turn brightness down as well and you can also get an app such as battery mix to see if a rogue app (sneaky app that hides in background and uses battery) is there. This is how you crack down on the apps that drain battery.

The thing that uses the most battery on this phone is DEFINITELY THE SCREEN!!!!
Turn down the time it takes for it to sleep. That will help it so much.

The screen and the radios when they are searching for signals that don't exist. Leave your radios on when you are in a weak signal area like the basement of large building and your battery will die very quickly.

Whoops I forgot about that. If you are s off and get low signal you should get a different radio. The best one for me is the 0.530 radio for signal, less dropouts and better battery and .0808 for house penetration and better battery at home.

Weak signal will gobble up battery. Being in an area with strong signal will give you better battery life as well since your phone isn't searching for signal constantly. ;)
 
Which Radio would you recommend for a house with a tin roof? I get not only 0 bars but I get no service on the house but 2 bars outside.

It's really hit or miss depending on your area, the only way to find out is to start flashing! :p

Haha! Right? I gave my Elite to my girlfriend but I'm still awaiting CM7 for it. Seems like it's almost done have you seen it? :]
