So, today, I turned on my Galaxy S5 this morning probably around 6:30 when I woke up. I noticed that my battery was fine, still ~97% from last night's charging. I think the battery was on ~90% before class. When my class finished at 11, I took my phone out of my sweater pocket and it was extremely hot. It was so hot that I had to move my hand. I checked the battery and it was on 62%, or around there.
Even now my battery is at 41% and I'm just using it as I normally do.
I feel like the battery in my phone is shot. This incident today, plus the phone getting rather warm during charging, has made me think this.
