Battery Goes From 90% to 0% in One Hour Android 16

On a Google Pixel 6, since upgrading to Android 16 every few days late in the day the phone goes from over 90% battery to 0% battery in just one hour. It looks like some system software is stuck in a loop. I reviewed the battery usage of applications, and nothing there explains the battery use. Has anyone seen this behavior in Android 16, and is there a workaround?

I haven't a clue. Every few days doesn't sound like an OS problem but here is what AI provided:
AI Overview

If your Pixel 6 is experiencing power problems after an Android 16 update, first perform basic software troubleshooting by checking for and installing all pending updates, then try resetting the Device Health Services and system radios. If the issue persists, disable adaptive features like Adaptive Battery, look for apps with high battery usage, or try a hard reboot. A full factory reset may be necessary as a last resort.

next time it happens, try to catch it before it dies, and then open developer options and select running services

this can identify the problem app(s)

at that point, you can try a few different things depending upon how deep you want to go

if its a new phone or you want a year or more with it it can be worth it, if you are thinking about a new device, then that is the easiest way out

i stay away from system updates altogether, myself

How do I enable developer mode? One online resource said to click the "Build number" item seven times, but this does not activate anything.

Did you head to system, it should be underneath there with { } on your device.
You have to "enable" developer mode before that option shows up on System. I finally got developer mode enabled.

I find a "System Tracing" and under that "Record CPU profile"

I will wait for the problem, hope the phone does not die before I catch it, and then do a trace. Then I guess I have to send that trace file to some tool online that will decode it.

Little steps I am glad.
