Battery issue/queston

Bought a HTC One X on Sunday, and on the advice of the sales person at 3, performed a 7 hour charge on the first battery drain (though, unfortunately, this 7 hour charge was in two parts, 3 hours and then a 4 hour charge a few hours later due to a powercut).

Now bearing in mind I've only had the phone a couple of days and its only gone threw a couple of charge cycles, I may just be being over-zealous, but I'm only getting around 3/4/5 hours on a full charge when I'm using 3g for spotify and downloading apps, playing games and texting.

My question really, is this battery life normal for the phone/early on in the phones life (i've heard that the battery life improves after a week or so)? have i doomed the battery with that initial charge? If so, is there anything I can do to help it? thanks in advance

When i first got my phone i let the charge drop till it wanted to be charged & then charged it over night the first couple of times.
My battery life is quite good now 40 hours + between charges, i have found this works best for battery life myself. (did the same on my old HTC Desire too)

I've had no problem with mine, and I got my One X 2 days ago. I'm getting 16+ hours with it, being on WiFi, auto sync (which usually runs down battery. I think it was called something like "background data" on my HTC Inspire 4G thought, so same thing), texting, and downloading things here and there via Bluetooth or WiFi. I mean, pretty normal batter life for doing these things in my opinion. And I do what the other commentor does with charging it :)

Not sure if I should call you a liar or be jealous. :)

Today I got just over 9 hours, which is about 3 more hours then I had been getting. I haven't had the phone long so I am still tweaking my setting to maximize the battery life. I can only hope I get close to your 16 hours.

I have the att one for a 2 months. First time charge let it drop to about 20 percent then it to 90 percent. And let it drop to 10 percent then gave it a full charge. Now you have to check your apps that you have running an manually stop them. I have my screen brightness set at halve way.also have airplane mode set off. I use wifi at home or work and have mobile net work set off at home and when not needed so use the mobile network when only when you need too use it. Why because some apps comtinue to run or update its self when not in use also set your updates to manual update this means that you have to update them when you are ready and not the apps updating themselfs. Now with the update from att and my setup I get a full day with texting; gamming ; and light web searching. But also made it 2 days without charging. Basically it comes down to how you set it up and your usage. Hop this help you.

Thanks, but turning off mobile data is not a solution for better battery life it takes the smart out of smartphone. It is a workaround for a poorly designed or poorly performing phone.

Mine is going back. Not sure if I am going to try another one or wait for the S3. Until then my S2 will do.
