Battery issue !

What does a red ? mark in the battery icon indicate?

if it were a removable battery, I'd say it's unauthorized (not factory original) or there's a problem. what happens if you power off the phone and put it on the wall charger (the factory original that came with it)???

The phone works perfect and still gets great battery life. I restarted the phone and the icon went back to normal and I got my usual battery life out of the phone for the day. I spoke with Verizon and they are sending me a refurb phone for tomorrow but I want to make sure I need a new phone and that this was not just some temporary glitch.
