If something were to happen with my battery on the one s, for example battery deterioration will htc replace it? I dont mind having to pay just want to know it htc will in fact replace it or if im stuck with a bad battery...

I am pretty sure you can send it in to HTC to get it replaced. If it isn't within the warranty period it would cost you, but I am sure they will do it.
It is also possible to replace yourself if you can get your hands on a battery. There are video guides on how to take the phone apart to do that (or replace the screen, etc).
