Battery Jumps after Reboot

After rebooting my Evo, the battery always seems to jump down a large amount. If it's at 70%, a reboot will bring it down to about 40%. This only started to happen after I rooted. I'm on Mobster Rom HD with the Buttered Toast kernel. Is there a reason it's doing this? I fully drained my battery and charged overnight to 100% and calibrated, but this didn't seem to help either.

The displayed battery % is an estimate based on amount remaining and past usage. It takes a lot to power the phone.

Sounds like you may need to do a full charge discharge to help calm your Rom down

I would do a full drain but last time (yesterday) I did this, my app data went away when I had forgotten to make any titanium backup so I don't really want to restore all app data. I'll just have to go really low down to around 5% I suppose.

If you are rooted, what I would do is let it drain down completely, then go into the recovery and wipe the battery stats. Then, charge it completely. Once it is fully charged, wipe the battery stats again. That seems to put my battery back in line, no matter what phone I'm using.
