Help Battery lasts for half a day

First of all sorry for my english i am from the Netherlands.

My girlfriend had got the Samsung Galaxy Mini for four weeks from now. But the battery isn't properly working, like it should. When she wakes up at 7AM in the morning with her phone fully charged the whole night, then it's already empty at 2 or 3PM. This is not the behaviour you expect from a phone, not even from a smartphone like this one.

So at the store we have got a new battery, but after a couple of weeks we see no differences. Now she has installed Advanced Taskkiller like you see in the Market. And indeed there are a lot of apps running in the background, But everytime she 'killed' a task, a couple minutes later it is running again. And so she killed it again but a couple minutes later they show up again.

Who is willing to help me with this?
How can the battery at least last a day? She only uses WhatsApp and Twitter. Not really any heavy apps on the battery.

Hmm, the phone behaves like this for everyone who bought it. The battery problem is horrible for the first 15 days. After a month, it becomes great.

At first, I too had the same problem. Now, My battery can stand for even 3 days.
There is no need to use any Task killers.
All you need is
Disable WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and Packet Data if possible
Uninstall unwanted Apps
Charge twice a day

Okay, it doesnt sounds good. Because almost everywhere they say you have to turn off the Internet, like GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi. But the main activity she has on her phone is WhatsApp and once in a while Twitter. But this can never be a battery drain at this high level (~5 hours)

But apps like Google Maps are demanding a lot of the battery isnt it?

It isn't good enough. No point having the phone if it doesn't work properly I think.
Mine is getting exchanged for another Nokia asap.

Battery life is pathetic in case of the Galaxy mini. however if you turn of 3G when not in use, you can achieve more than a day battery life (with moderate use). battery also drains off if you play games continuously for some three hours. I'd never suggest this phone to any of my friends.. :(

Shutting down what makes android fun is definitely not what I call a solution.
I have a Galaxy Mini and it works great. I keep Wifi, 3G and maps on all day, sometimes even use the GPS and navigator as I am new in town, listen to mp3 and make my average daily phone calls and my battery goes on for 24 to 36 hours depending on usage.
I have tried task killers and never saw any significant improvement, however juice defender set to aggressive may help.
As I keep saying this has nothing to do with configurations or usage. Samsung will have to come up with some sort of solution for what seems to be more a manufacturing bug.

@Jared There is no manufacturing bug, as you say. All the Galaxy Minis behave in the same way for the first few days. After a month, It really Improves a LOT. And Now my battery can stand for 3 days!!

I'm also having d same problem with d battery. I bought Galaxy Pop 2 weeks back. It's supposed to give 9.5hrs talk time n 570 hrs (ie 23 days) standby time. Some websites say it gives 7hrs talk time n 440 hrs(ie 18 days) standby time. I don't see that happening. From this point of view battery lasting even 3 days isn't much.
