Battery life after kitkat update

Did not, but will try that. Need to figure out first what's all affected by FDR before I run it. Maybe offload phone to laptop first.

It is unfortunately a BIG DEAL. You will loos all apps you installed, all contacts, all customizations.

It is pretty much a requirement after every major system upgrade and no one wants to state that and make it pat of the upgrade process. (I have actually met tow people who have never installed an app other than what came on the phone. They are probably exempt.)

I back my contacts up on Google all the time. After a FDR they are restored. I also reinstall apps again from Play Store (250) from the record they have of what I have installed.

I don't play games so I don't have game data to deal with. If you do that is another issue.

This may not solve this specific problem.

This provides a known clean non-conflicted foundation from which to work and diagnose future problems.

+1 on the recommended FDR.

Now, download a program like Battery Monitor so you can see the mA draw on the unit when plugged in an using GPS. My thinking is, you need a more uber power supply for the car. Also, you might have to use a lower screen brightness level.
