Help battery life decreasing

How much battery life can I expect out of the original battery?

I have had a ZTE Z667 running Android 4.4.2 for a little more than one year and still using the original battery. Usually it's used for texting and a few phone calls and I play some music MP3s for 30 minutes a day. Until recently, a day's use would leave 50 to 70% battery charge. The last few days it signals that it's down to 20% or less by the end of the day. I haven't loaded any new apps recently and "Location" is off. Is it time to replace the battery?

I believe if you were to search the forum for battery drain issues you will find similar problems. It may be the result of a Google play Services Upgrade. Android v4.4.2 is now three generations old. The equivalent of Windows XP. It is tending towards becoming obsolete.
This is only an opinion.

It could vary but do not expect the battery to last more than two years with regular use. After a certain number of charging cycles the batteries's performance will decline.

Aged batteries usually charge faster than it's used to be and also drain faster.

Did not know that. Content to be stuck in the KitKat past, I guess.

That means I've really given up on this 'progress.' Having already tried Windows 10 and reverted my PC back to Windows 7, now I'm stopping Android at 4.4.4. Not being able to turn data off would ruin my battery life, and that's more important than whatever the subsequent systems add.

Hi
You can still turn data on and off, just that apps cannot without your intervention. I believe this is to prevent unwanted connections from apps which are downloading ads and costing you money just to do it!

Yes, a very good choice.
I too am locked on Win7 forever after trying Win10.

And

I bought a new Note 4 and was super tickled it has 4.4.4 and after I had every thing like I wanted it, I inserted the SIM from my S5.

Turned it on and the first thing I saw was the bright RED screen that VZW was updating to 5.1.1

I was pissed but nothing could be done about it. Unable to root it.

Then 6.1 came out, it just got worse, I lost more features that I had been using plus the colors changed and I can't read the screen as I am pastel color blind.

Then that Note 4 died, a Klutz left it on the truck dash in full sun

Then a good thing happened and I bought The-Chief's Note 4 Developers Edition

Talk about HAPPY, I am elated to be stuck on 4.4.4 forever...

Sad state of affairs, when people start preferring legacy software. (Sorry to have wandered off-topic)

Why?

the newer stuff is crapola for me, so why should anyone give a shit what I prefer?

same for that POS crap called Win10, more crappy shit that I will not ever use again.

I like windows 10. It's just different. After using some, it's very functional.

it is not very functional at all for me.
none of the keyboard shortcuts work like they did,
none of the menu systems are in the same exact place they were,
it is designed for a touch screen which I don't have, ( my home office Desktop with 24 inch monitor) nor will I use one if I had it (actually I do, this laptop I am using right now has a touch screen.... I hate the damn thing).

the applications that I have always used, and continue to work very well for me, have been removed from Win10....

the newer versions of MicroSloth Office are for crap.... why in the hell remove the menus?
replace it with ribbons that have no distinct functionality at all? totally designed for a touch screen, nope, I will never use Win10 in its' native format..... the only time I might use it, will be AFTER Classic Shell has been installed and that crappy desktop hidden in the sewer where it belongs.

I am not very opinionated at all, am I....

I just read a report a couple days ago by the CEO of Texas Instruments, and he said that is just about where we are...

the next step is Voice Commands to our "homes" via microphones all over the house, it will require a wide bandwidth connection to the internet so that all of that audio can be received, and filtered out to remove the noise, and then respond to the owner.

he made it explicitly clear that if it is implemented poorly that the public will just turn away from it and never try it again.
