Battery life finally getting better...

FWIW, this is my 10th day w/the Note, and I've done about (6) full charge/discharge cycles, along w/a few 80% discharge. Coming into work this morning, I only used 11% with the screen on for a little over an hour, using Maps, with traffic enabled. At that rate, my battery would last about 10 hours. A few days ago, same setup would net me only 5-6 hours.

Update - slow at work today, started "using" the browser, playing pool...battery down to 63%. Drain rate much higher than just using Maps (6-7hrs vs. 10). I fully charged it again, and 45 min off charger, with light email checking usage, still at 100% per system status.

My biggest battery drain always seems to be the screen. I try to keep the brightness down when I can and I'm usually pleasantly surprised by my battery life. I've been streaming Google Music with the screen on in my car the past few days and it's holding up pretty well.

I'm starting to notice that if an image is static (Maps, mp3 player, home screen, etc.) battery life is not that bad, but when the image changes, even if just navigating settings menus, the battery takes a greater hit. It seems like the GPU may be more taxing than the backlight?

Just a thought. Again, this with screen brightness set at 0%-5% most of the day.
