Help Battery life HELP!

How do i keep my battery life up? I have a EPIC 4g and i charged it fully last night and today it died before the day was over around 6pm. What gives?
My screen brightness is turned to auto. All wireless services were off. My timeout setting was at 15 seconds. My only questions is when i go to my running services what should i keep on? What are specific things i should keep on? Also is there a way to terminate all running apps at one time? Also when i go to "Battery use" section on my phone, it says it has

Display 56%
Cell standby 15%
Andrioid System 11%
Phone idle 9%
Android OS 6%
Android Core Apps 3%
Dialer 2%

IS there anything i can take out to make my battery life run longer? Also how do i take stuff out if i have too. Thanks

I've had a very similar issue. I've had my phone since September and here in the past month it seems like my phone battery dies quicker.

Probably 4-5 hours of use and that's no cell phone calls. Not sure what to do

In short, kill the DRM process which kills your battery life. Also, toggle airplane mode on and off once to fix the time without service bug.

You could try watchdog lite, that will notify you if you have any rouge apps. Could also try juice defender, gives you options to tweak some settings to help the battery. Also dont use live wallpapers, use dark wallpapers, turn the brightness off of auto and turn it down as low as you can stand it. Could also remove any bloat you dont use, especially media hub. All the big screen phones have issues with battery, takes alot of juice to power the screens. Hope this helps.

.. i charged it fully last night and today it died before the day was over around 6pm.

Display 56%
Cell standby 15%
Andrioid System 11%
Phone idle 9%
Android OS 6%
Android Core Apps 3%
Dialer 2%

Those stats look pretty typical, pretty good, to me.

What do you mean by, "..it died..?" Did your device shut off unexpectedly, or are you saying the percentage of charge went below 15% or so?

There are more resource saving things you can do, as outlined in the link provided in an earlier post, but a full day's use out of almost any Android device is about average; some boast more, but most report about the same.

to the OP, how many hours are you getting out of your phone from 100% full to flashing batter light..?

i get 14 to 20 hours from my phone, i still run facebook in the background all day, background data is active and not disabled, i got like 5 widgets, display at like 50% and yes i still get 14 to 20 hours from my phone. 1 time last week i even got it to last 1 day 4 hours. and yes i took a snap shot of it. so if u arent at least getting 10-15 hours from your phone then you need to do some configurating.

Not sure if you are rooted or not, but I know on the EVO at least Sprint has loaded a ton of Bloatware. The Sprint Football live or whatever it is I noticed was constantly running and I had never even opened it. It was also frequently downloading data (I assume scores and stats) all by itself.

I would suggest freezing this and other apps like it that you do not use with Bloat Freezer or Titanium Backup Premium, but you must be rooted. Whatever you do do not just delete or uninstall these apps or your will never be able to get OTA updates again. My battery life on my EVO has improved significantly after freezing these apps.
