Help Battery life help

I would get amazing battery life the first few days of having the gs5 and now suddenly the Android system is using up most of my battery and it is lasting significantly lower.

Mine is doing the same thing; on first full charge it lasted a full 48 hours, now I can barely get 24 hours out of it because Android OS uses 50%.

Edit: I've been looking on other threads; I've seen some people say it takes about 5 charge cycles for the battery to get better. I hope it helps!

Try installing GSam Battery Monitor so you can get more detail on exactly what is using power.

Suddenly I'm having the save problem of faster battery drain. I have GSAM and WakeLock Detector installed. GSAM shows the Android System and the Kernel at the top of the list. Wakelock Detector shows that the phone is awake 80% of the time Vs 10%-15% previously. It's not clear what triggered this. Restarting the phone doesn't help.

I've encountered the exact same thing.
Here are a few of my observations:

The drain is consistent, the battery graph is the same gradient the entire scope.

Killing all apps does not help.

Switching to ultra power saving mode does not help, even in u. save my phone blew through a 20% charge in less than an hour.

It's the android OS listed that drains the battery. The phone will be warm to the touch.

Restarting the phone does help.

On my first charge the phone lasted 3days.

Try using something like nova launcher or another home replacement. Im using nova prime and Im at 47% and thats after 24 hours being off charge. Also I have email and sync set to 1 hour intervals as well
