Battery life on the S3, I get about 50%

That actually seems reasonable. There are 24 hrs in a day. Typically you'll sleep for 8 of those 24 hours which means your phone will last the entire time you're awake. I'm not concerned with my phone lasting 1-2 days on a single charge because it can charge while I sleep.

I honestly think you can do better. I'm at 14h 44m with 1h 8m screen one time and I have 60% left.

The battery on this phone can be really great but I think it comes down to what apps you have. I haven't had the Facebook app on my phone in over a year (I seldomly use it anywa) b/c it seemed like a battery hog. I recently tried Dolphin Browser and my battery tanked. Could completely be coincidence where something else was misbehaving but I uninstalled it and the next day I'm back to better battery life.

All things considered; if you're only needing to charge it once a day (while you sleep) then I don't think there really is need for concern.

16 hours with 2 hours of screen time and still at 30%. Lux Dash takes cae of screen brightness for me.

3G/4G/LTE eats up about 2-3% of my battery per hour with minimal use. I downloaded Juice Defender to turn off mobile data when my screen is off and now my battery only drains when I'm actually using it.
