Root Battery Life

Just a thought-I messed up restore and got a morningcall error,so I used sammy's recovery (f).I didn't have the time to re-root,etc,so my phone was running stock for half a day.My battery life seems to be a whole lot better than either bella,cm10,or loki kernal.Does this make any sense to anyone? I don't use any task managers, and only have data switch widget for faster access to 4g.
Any comments would be appreciated.

That was posted by SwoRNLeaDejZ. Here's the thing though.. We started really making progress around the time t-mobile and metro merged.. Our phones are still cdma while metro is trying to convert to gsm. Our phones are being over run with data fluctuations causing the phones to overwork without knowing it.. We assume it's the roms or gps or whatever because like I said we started really making Rom progress these last few months.. Thing is though it's happening on all roms including stock.. It also is happening to other MetroPCS customers on "older" models.. It has a lot to do with your region.. and it happens often at times and not so at others. But I'm sure you as well as many of us have have been trying out this rom and that rom as well as rom baselesses so again we trick ourselves into blaming it on the rom or port

Greenify > loki kernal > underclocked 1.03GHz > 25% brightness > custom debloat.

That fix worked for me but again what is in quotes is the real problem. Good luck

I think what is going on with this phone is partially my theory, and parts of Swain's theories. I think the merger has royally fncked this phone. GPS is 100% definitely the cause of my battery drain and overheating. Is this the case for everyone? No, it doesn't seem like it is. One person reported their phone being fine and cooling down and all after they disabled 4G data, and switched the phone to 3G only. I read a thread, about a bunch of affected Metro phones needing an update because of the way data is being handled on the network, and symptoms of needing the update were exactly what we are experiencing (read that thread here: http://androidforums.com/metro-pcs/743312-metropcs-psa-look-see-if-your-phones-affected.html). I wonder if Metro dropped the ball by not including our phone in that update, or if somehow installing unsupported versions of Android trigger your phone needing the update. I guess it is anyone's guess, and for now, I'm not going back to stock (the fact the my ROM is almost 100% perfect, and I just got a free tablet, definitely make that an easier decision ;) )

Try this if it doesn't work oh well. My phone started getting hot last night in a low data area.. Clear all cache, reboot, clear data from Google framework reboot recheck location settings.. My phone instantly started cooling down.. GPS was waking according to bbs but was caused by Google services framework.. I know I started a thread talking about play services, Google services framework is the one that I meant..
