Help Battery or Mains?

This may seem a stupid question but is it possible to run the Notebook 10.1 from the mains without damaging the battery? If yes should it only be occasionally?

Not a stupid question, I don't know the answer. I think when its really low there is a message somewhere discouraging usage while charging.

I do this occasionally when I forget my nightly ritual of plugging it in to charge before going to sleep

You can use it while charging. It will charge slower. Keeping it on charging at all times is not advisable due to battery wear.
