battery problems?

So i was on the phone and my phone randomly restarted. While it was turning on it was making a tiny crackling noicse. I had about 50% battery before it restarted and when it booted up i had 15% battery. I had the phone for not even a week and its doing this.
It happened on my samsung captivate to.

battery life on sgs2 IS horrible, no doubt -.- my SL can do better than this phone... but you know, go to task manager> Help.. there are guidelines there how to extend your battery.. read it (if you haven't read it yet)

Sorry, I do not know what may have caused that.
