Help Battery problems

Hi everyone, the problem I'm having with my galaxy note is my battery discharges really quickly. I used to be able to go the whole day with out charging it up again, but now I have to charge it up for an hour or so about lunchtime. Any help with this would be great. Thanks

Remove your microSD. Back up the content on your PC. Format it in your phone. Remove it. Copy the data back to it. Put it back in your phone.

I do not know why this works, but it does.

same problem with my GT-N7000 note, worse after I upgraded o/s to jellybean 4.1.2 earlier this year, bought batteries 2 and 3, battery 2 swelled up, and i then got problem with my microSDHC 32gb which lost it's data, had to reformat and restore it from a backup i'd made, just using batteries 1 and 3 at the moment, charging them with an external charger, having to charge in the car, seems lots of us are having the same problem, nothing from samsung about the promised update to jellybean, love the phone, so i'm just putting up with it. 4 oct 2013

ok I know this is a little off topic but relates to battery performance. I usually uses Wifi but am thinking on using a data plan. My question if I have wifi selected along with the data would the data automatically shut off when I am close to a wifi setup?
